The Propel Internship Summit is a Friday evening and all-day Saturday event that gives MNSOM internship students practical, hands-on information and experience for many of the assignments covered in the Certified and Licensed MNSOM internship.  The Internship Summit enhances the learning that students gain from their internship mentor. Students will still be required to write the reflection papers explained in the Internship Manuals.

This Summit is open to anyone wanting to participate whether they are in an internship or not. The pastoral topics covered are:

  • Hospital ministry
  • Funerals
  • Pre-marital counseling
  • Weddings and rehearsals
  • Water baptism
  • How to pray for and encourage people who are seeking baptism in the Holy Spirit
  • Child dedications
  • When to move a person from the pastoral counseling to professional counseling
  • Planning and preparing pastor’s finances
  • Communion

Propel is July 10-11, 2026. Registration is open until July 3rd.

Is the summit required for my internship?

  • No, it is an optional event. It is highly recommended as you will leave with a binder of content and resources.

Does the summit cover requirements for my internship?

  • No, the summit is meant to provide detailed content for each topic covered in the internships that you or your mentor may not have access to or experience in. It is designed to provide a sufficient overview that you then use in discussions with your mentor and in your written reflection papers.

Do I need to be a MNSOM student or in an internship to attend?

  • No, you do not need to be enrolled in MNSOM or be in an internship to attend.

What if my spouse and I are both MNSOM students?

  • We ask that you both register separately in order to each receive the printed binder of information and access to the virtual library.

What if I can only attend one of the days?

  • That is fine to attend only one day. The price is the same.

Will this be offered again?

  • We will offer this summit every July.
